FINISHED!

After what seems like an endless amount of time applying coat after coat of varnish the canoe is finally finished!

3 coats of varnish inside and out. Fitted the seats on Wednesday and also screwed on some stainless steel eyes to fix the buoyancy bags.

Just need to buy one more paddle and it will be ready for the maiden voyage!

More epoxy

Just finished applying the last coat of epoxy to the inside. Also have given the gunwhales, inwhales and thwarts a quick coat to seal them.

Hopefully thats the last of the epoxying for now. Only varnish to apply- which handles much nicer.

Light at the end of the tunnel....

Well, things are beginning to progress a bit quicker now to the extent I can now see light at the end of the tunnel.

The seat supports have been epoxied onto the hull and the frames have just had a first coat of varnish.

I have also put the last coat of epoxy on the the exterior side of the joints.

Given the fact I can see everything coming together now I think I will make faster progress. Ordered the buoyancy bags, just need 2 buy one more paddle.

No pics yet as I forgot my camera!!
